Maine’s Fall Highland Hunting

Hunting in Maine is a long and running traditional sport that provides food on the table as well as a family tradition way of life.

The Maine Highlands has some of the most popular and well-groomed snowmobile trails in the entire state. People travel from all over New England to ride in our region—and for good reason! The trails are safe, the views are picturesque, and you can get just about anywhere on your sled.

Downhill Ski & Snowboard

Our region is home to three small mountains where you can alpine ski and snowboard to your heart's delight. The benefits of a smaller ski mountain are that there are shorter lines, the mountains are easy to get to, and it’s generally less expensive than the larger resorts.

Rail Trails

A rail trail is an old, unused railway that has been converted into a multi-use path. These abandoned railways are typically flat and long—perfect for walking, cycling, and horseback riding in the warmer months and cross country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter months. Some trails allow for ATVs and snowmobiles.
