The Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District's Demonstration Forest includes a "canyon," an enriched hardwood site, a Japanese Larch/Red Pine plantation and homestead sites. The forest offers hiking, bird watching, hunting, snow shoeing and cross-country ski trails. There is an outdoor classroom, a geocache site, picnic tables and benches. Brochures are available.
